Two identical bags – one major price difference! Can you tell which bag costs $2.250, and which is $40? If so, what gives it away? I haven’t done one of these in a while, so I thought it would be fun to see what you think! The answer will be announced on Monday, October 11th.

Prep School Bound

[Images by the lovely Dina of Eye4Style]
Well, not quite (maybe 12 years ago), but this look channeled the prepster inside, with a little dose of Julia DiNardo spunk added to it! My two newest items in this look is what I really think gave it some extra oomph, making it more ‘me’ than just preppy! For starters, I’m carrying the Gina Buckle Satchel in Blue from Handbag Heaven (on sale for $67.96). As usual, I was testing out a new, fabulous style compliments of the site, and this one totally struck my fancy for its cool faux exotic skin print, unusual shade of blue (that works with all colors of garments, including black), and its incredible size, which lets me place multiple newspapers, water bottles, toiletries, you name it in there! It’s also certified as Vegan, has a detachable long strap, and a chic navy and white striped lining. It is definitely reminiscent of another luxury bag, that let’s say costs at least a few thousand dollars more.
The other item is my Katie Ankle Boots, compliments of Kork-Ease (retails for $210). Kork-Ease is known synonymous with comfort, and if you’ve had boot issues, you know that not all boots are created equal — just because it doesn’t have a five-inch heel does not automatically make the shoe comfortable. From the get-go, there was no “breaking in” with these boots, and I love that the tiny stud detailing gives them a bit of an edge. Available in three colors (black, brown, red), made of Vachetta leather, and vegetable dyed, I think the brown makes a perfect fall color choice, and can even look great with a long or short skirt and thick, opaque tights.
In this look:
- Steven Alan button up shirt (four years old)
- Gina Buckle Satchel in Blue compliments of Handbag Heaven
- Khaki Wide-Leg Sailor Pants, Old Navy (two years old)
- Belt, Banana Republic (10 years old)
- Katie Ankle Boots, compliments of Kork-Ease
