I recently attended a holiday and fall/winter preview of the new Jones New York line with the ever-charming style guru Lloyd Boston. Lloyd, the brand’s new “style guy”, guided us through the collection, giving styling advice and detailed information about the construction and relevance of the looks in a variety of settings, from work to play. The brand has also extended its demographic to be more multi-generational, which in my house, is par for the course– my Mom loves to steal my clothes, while I go for her bags and accessories! He emphasized that it is all in the way that one styles the pieces to really interpret and make the look one’s one (very true). For me, I’d like to add some funky chunky jewelry and patent leather heels to some of the looks for my own personal touch. A few looks that stood out as the most practical and versatile were a rich chocolate long sweater dress along with several jewel-toned blouses that are sure to spice up the office attire in colder months and easily transition to a post-work fashion event. Keep your eyes peeled for the more youthful side of Jones New York, hitting major retailers soon.

Via our fabulous friend Jordana at Clutch 22:
My newest wardrobe obsession is a new purchase from the edgy and talented Angie Johnson of I Heart Norwegian Wood. These new handmade leggings have so much personality and allow me to express my style without having to try.

The sequin embellishments weaved into the sheer black sections remind me of one of my favorite trends from NYFW shown in threeASFOUR’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection (see below). I’ve thought about ways to DIY this, but when I saw Angie’s latest leggings concoction, my craving was beyond satisfied.

I’ve actually worn them at least three times since purchasing them and have found they look best with simple tones and styles. Unless you’re in costume, you don’t want to mix too much wild with wild, but I’ve pushed the boundaries a little by wearing them with dramatic shoes (not in this outfit though).

Wearing:
- Dress: Zara
- T-shirt dress: American Apparel
- Leggings: I Heart Norwegian Wood
- Pumps: Steven

Exciting news! I Heart Norwegian Wood is designing an exclusive line for Shrimpton Couture. I’ll be sure to keep you posted as soon I can get my hands on some pics!
