[Images via Style.com, not the Target Collection]
I’m a big fan of Target’s collaboration collections, so I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that a rumor concerning the partnering one of my favorite designers and the mass merchant has been confirmed.
And the designer is – get this – Jean Paul Gaultier! Fashionistas over the country rejoice as they will be able to get a piece of the legendary French designer for prices that are too good to be true (especially in this economy)!
Gaultier becomes the third to create a line for Target’s Designer Collaborations program, which features “well-established designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element.” Gaultier’s line will be based off of the American woman, including elements of pop culture style, both past and present.
Mark your calendars now! The collection hits 250 stores nationwide and Target.com on March 7, 2010 and will be available for purchase through April 11, 2010. Additional information (including images!) will be available in February 2010 – we’ll be sure to keep you posted!

As expected, the fashion world trudges on!
*J.Crew opens a new mens concept store next to Topshop in Soho at 484 Broadway.
*Speaking of Topshop, the Barbara Hulanicki collection is chugging along just fine.
*Anna Sui designs for Target! The Gossip Girl inspired line is destined to be fabulous. Bad news: you’ve got to wait until September 13th to buy it!
*Almay’s PureBlends Volumizing Mascara will hit shelves in July, is made of 97.5% natural ingredients, and will cost just $6.99
*Forever 21 launches a juniors plus-size line called Faith 21
*Marc Jacobs comes up with a follow-up juice to his incredibly popular Daisy fragrance, dubbed “Lola“. We have a feeling this one’s going to be equally, if not more incredible.

Via a new series of limited edition designs, separate from Go International, Target will launch “Designer Collaborations” in March, starting with Alexander McQueen. The designer’s line will be similar to his work on McQ line (pictured), dubbed “McQ Alexander McQueen for Target”. So far, McQueen’s signature play of feminine vs. masculine, silk-screens, kitschy graphics, denim ,and blazers are slated for the collection, with images and price points yet to be released. Stay tuned for perhaps one of the best designer editions yet from the bullseye retailer!
