A bustier dress has been defined over and over again as the ultimate in sexy. Although a bustier top or dress by Jean Paul Gaultier or Proenza Schouler would be ideal, an inexpensive price point is more in line with reality these days. That makes this Pleated Bust Dress, $32 an exceptional find. Available in three colors, my choice would be black, as you can definitely get extra mileage out of it that way.

I ended up with a bad cold, so please forgive me for the dealy in fashion week recaps!
Richard Chai (Womens):
Fur’s the word at Richard Chai this season, although he still knows how to make a mean print work in a variety of ways.
Mackage:
True to their heritage, Mackage stayed focused with absolutely incredible jackets — I would be glad to wear every single one of them – leather bombers, parkas, long wool cream overcoats- you name it!
Milly:
Milly designer Michelle Smith runs the lbd department for fall 2009 — seriously, and that’s a good thing.
Marchesa:
A true fantasy in eveningwear, 100% red carpet-worthy, and I’m sure to see a few of them tonight at the Oscars
3.1 Phillip Lim:
The ’60s inspiration was quite evident; the coats were quite exquisite.
Proenza Schouler:
These boys can do no wrong; McCollough and Hernandez sent out a bevy of coats, tweeds and dresses without forgoing their signature, accentuated modern bustier silhouette.

We saw a tremendous amount of exposed zippers on the runway this season, our favorites being from the fabulous Proenza Schouler spring/summer 2009 collection (pictured). Naturally we know right away that we had to participate in this trend, so we pulled together some affordable items that will help you get that exposed zipper look.
We’ve already purchased the Exposed Zipper Top (features a zipper down the back), $18.99 and Zippered Leggings, $16.99, both from Charlotte Russe, although we definitely wouldn’t wear the two items together. We were thrilled to find zippered leggings that didn’t cost $100, likes the coveted LNA brand ones, and the slight batwing sleeves, buckle-waist, and longer tunic length give the exposed zipper top a very of-the-moment aesthetic. Next up we found the Kensie Double-Knit Dress at Dillard’s for $49 (was $98), which most certainly channels mod-chic and also has a zipper down the back. Last of all, we foudn the splurge item — the Marc by Marc Jacobs Runway Exposed Zipper Dress, on sale for $199 (was $328) at eLUXURY.com. The cool blue color and tiered fabric gives a pulled-together, ladylike look, then turn around and go a little grunge with the exposed zipper surprise.
