As everyone in New York has realized by now, winter is here, which can be a bit of a downer for all of us struggling to stay fashionable without sacrificing warmth and comfort.
Luckily, Topshop is keeping us covered with their ever-expanding line of winter accessories. With new hats, scarves, and gloves being stocked every week, the hardest part about keeping warm and staying stylish this season will be fighting the crowds in-store!
My favorite this week? Charcoal Lace Trim Gloves (they also come in black), which retail for $36. The knitted gloves feature lace and beading detail and are made from 70% Lambswool, 20% Angora, and 10% Nylon – sure to keep your hands pretty and toasty!
If you’re in or around New York, check out their US flagship on the corner of Broadway & Broome. If not, you can order online (half-price shipping until Christmas!) by going to their website > winter accessories > gloves.

As far as the fashion industry is concerned, the ’80s are here to stay – and have been in a big way these past few years. Some of the ’80s-inspired styles have been great, and some not-so-great, but one revival I hope will be sticking around are patterned tights. While black opaque tights are a wardrobe staple and appropriate for all occasions, funky patterned tights are a great way to spice up any otherwise dull, casual outfit.
Luckily, patterned tights have been all the rage this season and thus can be found nearly anywhere; however, I can’t think of any pair I’ve seen cuter than these Topshop Large Heart Opaque Tights! For just $20, you can immediately kick any outfit up a notch with these fun, flirty tights. The best part? They’ll go with nearly anything, and will look particularly fabulous paired with this season’s trendy ankle or thigh-high boots.
To purchase, visit Topshop.com (make sure you’re viewing the US site!), click tights & socks -> tights. Or, if you’re in the NYC area, simply visit their US location on the corner of Broadway & Broome!

From RedCarpet-FashionAwards.com
Its a fact that every year celebrities attend a slew of award shows. The majority of these red-carpet events essentially require the starlets to dress in fancy gowns that hark back to old Hollywood glamour. However, a few nights a year, celebs have the opportunity to let their hair down, and wear something to an award show that allows their true, perhaps eccentric personalities (well, or their stylists’) to shine through. The American Music Awards is one of these nights. We have a blast watching shows like the AMAs, because when a celebrity takes the reigns of coordinating their own outfit, particularly for a performance, we are bound to be treated to an array of bizarre and outrageous garments. This year, we spotted a plethora of accessory no-nos, including such adornments as eye patches, head jewelry, and absolute ridiculous hats. Here are our five favorite accessory faux pas that we spotted at this year’s AMA’s:

We totally think Nick Jonas is adorable, but as if the shiny ensemble wasn’t enough, the green tie makes our favorite Jonas Brother look like he has just landed from outer space… or even worse–the eighties.

Oh Rihanna. We can never get her catchy songs out of our heads, and unfortunately we can never get her over-the-top outfits out of our heads either. At first when she appeared on stage, we were worried. We wondered if Rihanna was simply dressed up as a pirate dominatrix, or if she had lost sight in her left eye! Luckily, she quickly took off her jewel-encrusted eye patch and we were rest assured that her eye was still in tact. The moral of the story is, enjoy this pop-princess’ music, but please ignore some of her wardrobe choices! We shudder to think of the day when eye-patches become a popular fashion accessory.

While we’re on the subject of eye-wear, let’s talk about Steve Perry. This rocker came fully equipped to the award show with…night-vision goggles? Or perhaps x-ray vision goggles to check out fellow celebs without his date knowing? All we know is, his insect-like shades kind of freaked us out.

Why is Alicia Keys’ forehead jewelry coming out of the top of her head? Unless Alicia Keys has converted to Hinduism recently, we’d advise her to leave the bling around her neck or on her ears.

All we have to say about T-Pain’s studded tiger top-hat is: this tiger should have never been let out of the zoo!
