The second season for the L.L. Bean Signature collection was comprised of classic looks, some pulled from the L.L. Bean archives and reworked, while others are soon to be the new classic pieces in your wardrobe. There was flannel, canvas, suede, and leather, as well as paired down jersey pieces paired with terrific bags and shoes. It was a premiere event that would have done the SATC girls proud: thanks to HP, I (and my Mom tagged along too!) got to experience the pre-screening of the new movie, along with the pre-screening party at the Millennium Hotel and after-party at Bergdorf Goodman. So without further ado – I will give you some hints about the movie, without spoiling it!
1) There is a wedding
2) There is a bit of cheating
3) There is a TON of fashion-Dior, Vuitton, Halston – fabulous!
4) Miranda lightens up
5) Samantha is more vulgar than ever (but we love it!)
6) There are quite a few celeb cameo appearances
7) Carrie downsizes here closet (although it is still ginormous and lust-worthy)
8) There’s a great ‘flashback’ moment when you the fab 4 in the mid 1980s!
9) It’s 2.5 hours long, but you’ll wish it was longer (and for SATC 3!)
The after party at Bergdorf Goodman’s women’s store was a star-studded affair, completely with belly dancers and Middle Eastern food to compliment the film’s locale. Designers, celebrities, SATC stars, press, and my Mom mingled until about 1am – and there was also a reality TV show being filmed during the party ( I think it was ‘The City’). All in all, it was a fabulous night – more pics below!

This season was rife with memorable looks for fall 2010 menswear, hence we picked some of favorites and asked one of our ‘Fashion Pulse Daily Dudes,’ David James of blog The Vicarious Lifestyle, for some hilarious candid commentary. Here’s his opinion on some of the unusual looks we dug up:
Someone please call the manager! The waiter is attempting to seduce me in this horrible metallic orange outfit!! CHECK PLEASE!!!
You poor man – You are so confused… you don’t know which way is up or down, or how to match your outfit for that matter.
I think this is what the uniform would look like if Count Dracula formed an army. HUH?!
YSL might be turning over in his grave after this mess walked down the runway. Check out the sequenced black “armies” with a mismatch purplish undershirt. Please send help.
Not sure I am feeling this look Burberry pulled together for their London show. Aren’t they suppose to have a home field advantage over their competition?
Ruffles on man are never sexy – not in the circus and not on the runway. He looks like his mom dressed him after she was out all night on a drinking binge.
