We’ve been aprehensive most of our lives to purchase foundations and concealers anywhere besides the cosmetics counter at a department store or Sephora. After testing out the Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer $6.49, at Drugstore.com we realized that we’ve most definitely been missing out! The creamy concealer doesn’t cake at all, and provides perfect amount of moisture to the skin. There’s a variety of shades to choose from, and thankfully the “fair” was an absolute perfect match for us. This product worked so well that it actually made us kind of embarassed that we spent $30 for one at Sephora…

It’s all about Shalom – Shalom Harlow that is, for Victor & Rolf’s S/S 2009 collection. As the sole model for the entire collection, once again V&R did something unconventional by showing their new looks via a video presentation where Shalom appeared over, and over, and over again. We loved the deep red eye shadow seen on Shalom, along with their geometric zig zag lines and palette of large red, black, and white. The 21-piece collection managed to cover both casual and couture looks, in fabrics ranging from jersey to chiffon and satin.

Fashion Pulse traded in their converse sneakers for patent leather pumps on October 30th for the Saks Fifth Avenue party honoring creative director Damiano Biella of Escada and benefitting the Free Arts NYC organization. The party remained on the second floor of Saks, centered around the Escada boutique, which of course had clothing to die for displayed on rotating live models and complete with oversized ruffles, interesting pleat detailing and baby-soft cashmere jackets. Besides the free cocktails and eclectic fashion crowd, we most enjoyed the evening send-off via a live performance by Duffy, singing four of the songs from her debut Rockferry album.
