We saw a tremendous amount of exposed zippers on the runway this season, our favorites being from the fabulous Proenza Schouler spring/summer 2009 collection (pictured). Naturally we know right away that we had to participate in this trend, so we pulled together some affordable items that will help you get that exposed zipper look.
We’ve already purchased the Exposed Zipper Top (features a zipper down the back), $18.99 and Zippered Leggings, $16.99, both from Charlotte Russe, although we definitely wouldn’t wear the two items together.
We were thrilled to find zippered leggings that didn’t cost $100, likes the coveted LNA brand ones, and the slight batwing sleeves, buckle-waist, and longer tunic length give the exposed zipper top a very of-the-moment aesthetic. Next up we found the Kensie Double-Knit Dress at Dillard’s for $49 (was $98), which most certainly channels mod-chic and also has a zipper down the back. Last of all, we foudn the splurge item — the Marc by Marc Jacobs Runway Exposed Zipper Dress, on sale for $199 (was $328) at eLUXURY.com. The cool blue color and tiered fabric gives a pulled-together, ladylike look, then turn around and go a little grunge with the exposed zipper surprise.

We had to trek to three different Sephora locations until we found this popular little gadget in stock! Our new favorite tool, the Eyelash Curler and Comb Duo is only $5 at Sephora, and features a retractable eyelash brush that pops out of the base. We also use the brush on our eyebrows when they seem a tad unruly, and the eyelash curler itself is gentle, opposed to some scary metal contraptions we’ve seen that have a clamp-like look to them.

Enhance your holiday look with a little sparkling glitter on your wrist with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Crazy Bow Cuff for $58.80 (was $98) at NET-A-PORTER.com. It will enhance pretty much any casual or dressy look — we’d love to pair it with this D&G Dolce & Gabbana Peter Pan Collar Top ($112.50) and the Marc by Marc Jacobs Charlie High-Waisted Jeans ($100, both NET-A-PORTER.com). Add $12.50 for s&h.
