A chic, modern twist on a circus tent set the stage for Morgane Le Fay’s Fall 2009 collection. With Arait riding boots and relaxed, braided hair, the equestrian-goddess models perfectly displayed Liliana Casabal’s latest looks. The light, airy dresses were both simple yet unexpected. From flowing gowns to wool jackets, each garment had a unique twist. Casabal paid special attention to detail by executing pleating, layering, bows, feathers, and floral embroidery. Sheer dresses and skirts played between suggestive and innocent as they revealed hoop skirt underlays and of course the full female form. To add a bit of punch, the models wore oversized Chewbacca-inspired mittens and furry accessories. All in all, the collection was elegant, cohesive and wearable, although slips would be advised when wearing the more sheer pieces in public.

When fashion week rolls around, I am constantly asked “Oooh what did you get? What was your favorite? Got anything for me?”. Most people say that every season gets skimpier and skimpier, but I think there is the same mix of makeup, gift certificates, alcohol, etc that there always has been. Of course out of these freebies, anything potentially “guy-centric” goes right to my Dad and brother, and of course, my Mom gets first dibbs on everything.
Without futher ado, here is the good, the bad, and the funny swag from Fall Fashion Week 2009:
- The hot pink vinyl Mereceds Benz press bag
- Viactive calcium chews Swarovski crystal bracelet
- Poo-Pouri
- M.A.C. Makeup
- Tela & P2 Products by Philip Pelusi
- Noxin Nasal Sanitizer
- Stella McCartney CARE skincare products
- The Duke Spirit CD
- Star Chefs on the Road cookbook
- Tresemme haircare
- Peroni beer glass
- tons of tote bags (YKK, Karen Walker, etc)
- Completely Bare Spa Gift Certificate
