Vintage glamour at its best– Giorgio Armani reworks the fascination with the Orient of yore and dramatic silhouettes of the 1930s to reveal a modern-day couture equivalent that will be sure to dazzle the eye for more than one season. A favorite detail from the collection is the winged sleeves, shoulders and pant hems, practically an ode to pagoda rooftops. Hence, the runway look of the day embodies those elements — just when I was thinking that a classic suit jacket could no longer be reworked into something fabulous, Armani proves me wrong! I love the hand fan print, and the curved skirt hemline gives it the proper couture touch.

It’s really impossible to say when enough black items in your wardrobe is enough. They’re just so practical, and usually you’ll get your money’s worth, merely from the opportunities on practically a daily basis that you can have to wear them! I simply love, and immediately bought this Origami Skirt with Exposed Zipper, $22.80, for its bondage-like design and contemporary exposed zipper. I can’t say that it’s work-appropriate since the skirt is pretty clingy, but is a definite knock-out to wear in the evening or on the weekends –pair it with some statement jewelry such as a bib necklace or oversized earrings, and off you go!

It’s difficult to recall a time in my life when I wasn’t familiar with the name “Philip Pelusi” a popular staple of haircare in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Pelusi owns a hefty number of salons in the area, and my Mom, as well as some of my friend’s parents, boast that Mr. Pelusi himself did their hair in the 70s. Now more than just a household name in Pittsburgh, Philip Pelusi has garnered national attention with his incredible line of haircare products and innovative Tela Salon in New York City’s Meatpacking District.
I’ve always been a fan of the Philip Pelusi products, known for a strong aromatic scents that are quite addictive, and accomplishing the impossible (for me, that would be giving volume to my baby fine hair). His new line of P2 and Tela products continue to impress — for example the p2 refres H air is undefinable; it’s not quite a dry shampoo, not quite a full-on styling product, but gives a little extra oomph to a variety of hair types as a touch-up for later in your day. The new Tela Products are certified organic and focus on well-being and maintenance of your hair’s health combating damage and treating a variety of hair issues such as split ends, frizzies, over-processing and more. Currently the items are only offered at Philip Pelusi’s NYC Tela Salon, and exclusively at Barneys New York, but we have a feeling that once the word spreads about how great they are, people will demand that their local beauty apothecary carries them!
