Havaianas, the fabulous flip-flops (that I have at least three pairs of, btw), has joined forces with Threadless.com, the online community-based t-shirt company, to create a collection of limited edition sandals for summer 2010. The project officially launched in mid-July with six designs from original artwork submitted and voted on by the Threadless community. Using the ever-increasingly popular method of crowdsourcing, Threadless received over 600 design submissions from designers around the world with the winning artists being: Farhan Hassan from Singapore, Alvaro Arteaga Sabaini from Chile, Josh Perkins from Arizona, Jess Fink from New York, Ross Zietz from Chicago, and Emmy Cicierega from Massachusetts to form the complete limited edition collection. The way the designs translate from the tees to the body of the flip-flop just looks so artistic and cool – I received a pair of Farhan’s designs, and just love them! Which one is your favorite? You can buy the tee or the flip-flop (or both!): check out all the designs here.

Lauren Ralph Lauren New Handbag Collection
What does the Lauren Ralph Lauren gal want from a handbag? I now am privy to tell you, after recently attending the Lauren Ralph Lauren handbag launch and preview for the fall 2010 collection. Below I’ve included images of my absolute favorites from the collection, with each bag clocking in at under $500 (with the exception of the very last one). The bags straddled the line between classic and on-trend pieces, with signature Ralph Lauren elements such as canvas, signature prints, fabrications, and attention to detail at the helm of the collection. The bags will be available nationwide at fine retailers carrying the Lauren brand come August. Which one is your favorite?
