One of my favorite trends of spring and summer this year is chambray. The lightweight cotton fabric looks like denim but is much thinner and softer. In fact, chambray shirts feel like you’ve owned them for years after a wash or two. Chambray gives a bit of a retro and western vibe, but designers like Alexander Wang and Vince are taking the fabric of farmers and miners to the next level for fashion forward people like you.
I love that this trend is so popular because that means you can find it at any price point. If you’re willing to splurge, my choice is the Vince Uneven Hem Shirt that’s perfect with shorts or a flirty skirt. If you’re on a budget, go for the Hinge Chambray Skater Skirt which hits both the chambray and circle skirt trend in one fell swoop. When all else fails, try a local thrift store because chambray was huge in the 80s and 90s.
