American Living ‘Made for’ Moments
HAPPY LABOR DAY! As the summer is (sadly) coming to a close, it’s about time I share with you the rest of the American Living video series! In June/July, I had done a few posts on the American Living ‘Made for’ Campaign that I was working on with some of my fellow Style Coalition bloggers. FINALLY, here’s links to all of the bloggers who participated, along with links to all of their ‘Made for’ moments/videos. I made a cameo appearance in my buddy Jordana (Clutch22)’s video, along with our buddy Amy from MidtownGirl. Enjoy!

- Style Bakery: Made for doing it all
- The Budget Babe: Made for shopping at the farmer’s market
- Gala Darling: Made for enjoying the fresh air and sunshine
- The Coveted: Made for riding my bike

ASUS and ME: Convenient, Lightweight, Ultra-Chic
With New York Fashion Week right around the corner, I’ve been busy contemplating ways to simplify the experience and definitely reduce the weight of my massive handbag! Luckily I received a Windows 7 Hot Pink Eee PC™ 1008P designed by Karim Rashid (prolific designer, of pretty much anything and everything imaginable) compliments of Windows 7, and I cannot wait to throw it in my bag! This stylish little guy come in at 2.5 lbs, only 1” thick, has a 10.1” frameless LED backlit display, and up to six hours of battery time – sweet!
Being mainly a Mac person, I was concerned whether I’d be able to adapt to the world of Windows 7 and a PC, but much to my surprise, it’s more ‘Mac’ than I thought! There’s some cool drag and drop features, plus it has Photo Gallery and Movie Marker from Windows Live — a system comparable to Adobe’s Creative Suite — which is super helpful for me when editing FPD videos and photos! So if you’re wondering how I find the time to churn out that New York Fashion Week coverage so quickly, this season it will be all thanks to this hot pink phenom in my mondo, but thankfully lighter, handbag!

What FPD Has Been Up to Lately…

Via Spiga 25th Anniversary Party
Hosted on the magnificent roof deck of the Empire Hotel, Via Spiga’s 25th Anniversary fete displayed serpentine bejeweled heels (compliments of Kenneth Jay Lane) and plenty of conversation regarding the esteemed footwear brand.
Compass Trade Show
Checked out some the newest, coolest, footwear designs from the likes of Walkover Shoes, Kork-Ease, Sorel, 80%20 and more — so many fabulous styles coming out for spring, I don’t know if I can wait!!
Tory Burch Denim Launch & Styling Contest
I had the great pleasure to check out the latest fall merch from Tory Burch in her uber-cool Meat Packing District store on Little West 12th Street – in addition, we were invited to take anything we wanted from the collection and style it with the new jeans – my styled look is above, at left!
Casio G-Shock ‘Shock the World’ Event with Ke$ha
Ke$ha, best known for her chart-topping singles “Tik Tok” and “Your Love is My Drug,” officially announced her roles as Brand Ambassador and designer at Casio’s annual “Shock the World” press event in New York City. The singer also served as the evening’s entertainment, performing a set of songs to us press members. Also launched was the new men’s Edifice watch, a more upscale approach to the G-Shock style.
Jones New York Jewelry Preview
At this event, FPD took in jewelry styles from Jones Apparel Group’s brands, including Jones New York, Nine West, and my two personal favorites – Rachel Rachel Roy (pictured above, left), and Givenchy (pictured above, right).
Lord & Taylor: The Ultimate Face Lift Event
The storied department store on Fifthe Avenue is getting a complete makeover in the beauty department, and I was invited to check it out (they gave us pink hard hats as part of the theme -cute!). We met with representatives from Clinique, Lancome, and Estée Lauder to learn about their latest product offerings, and received services such as brow defining, blow outs, and makeup applications.
Nautica Cruise
One of my favorite events of the summer, Nautica hosted a cruise on the Manhattan Yacht for a handful of bloggers to sail down the Hudson while taking in some Nautica eye candy (aka male models in swimsuits!), great food, drinks, friends, and a fabulous souvenir — Nautica sunglasses.
Call it Spring Launch Party
Call it Spring opened just a week ago in NYC’s Manhattan Mall, so I was invited down to shop and check out the new store and footwear offerings! From boots to flats, ALL styles are affordably priced (i.e. nothing hits $100) and the brand also offers some handbags and small accessories. Stay tuned for a post with my footwear picks from the event!
