Here’s the deal: I love Isaac Mizrahi and Fern Mallis, but otherwise, I’m not buying it! Kelly Rowland sounds robotic, and like she’s reading a teleprompter, while the tasks are pointless and irrelevant, the episodes themselves are chock-full of product placements, ad nasuem. I gave the show two episodes before I officially made up my mind, but probably should have just saved my time and written this after the premiere episode. This show is hanging by a thread. Unlike Project Runway, I haven’t really gotten any inclination of raw talent from anybody, nor connected to any of the show’s contestants. The only sentiment I feel is just being slightly annoyed by Merlin’s over the top eccentricity that feels so contrived, and Kristin’s too blonde and pink ‘do. Plus, who quits after Episode 1? One of the contestants even admitted in Episode 2 that he wasn’t so good at sewing “I’m not a seamstress”– are you kidding me?!?! I’m not really sure if the reward for winning The Fashion Show is commesrate with the tasks, but time will only tell the fate of the winning contestant and their potential for success in the real fashion industry.
Has anyone else been watching it? I’d love to read your comments!
