This month I wrote a few articles from New York Fashion Week for SOREL’s Blog, which was so so great to write for one of my all-time favorite brands, and I’m thrilled to share with you the work that I did, found at other online sources. Below you’ll find the “Colors of Spring 2013,” so that you can have a head’s up on what colors to buy, keep, and store!
Finding out what colors will be hot for spring 2013 is just as important as discovering the trends that are expected to be in fashion. For the upcoming season, expect pops of bright color (as opposed to a monochromatic wash of neon that was big last spring), a high contrast of color by pairing black and white together, and going pale and fresh with a cool mint hue.
An easy way to test the waters of colors that may suit you best is to update and refresh your current wardrobe by working in these new on-trend colors in small ways – first via a handbag, a piece of jewelry, or footwear. Plus, it’s never too early to rev your engine for the upcoming season’s colors, especially if you’re lucky enough to live in a temperate climate and can get away with wearing short sleeve dresses and shorts year-round!
Orangey Red
A mix between a suped-up vermillion and red ochre, bright, orangey-red tones have been popping up all over New York Fashion Week on everything from footwear and bags to evening gowns and lips.
