You know how sometimes…you just really need a cool, printed pant? I really wanted to incorporate one into my wardrobe this summer, but I really only wanted to get…one pair. It’s very clearly a trend, and so if it falls out of favor with fashion but more importantly, me, next season, I wouldn’t be terribly bummed about, having not overly committed to it when it was popular. Not all trends are for all lifestyles and physiques, and I think knowing what works best for you is truly winning the style battle.
The print I had in mind for my ideal patterned pants was one that could work with a variety of top colors and fabrications, did not come in a sheer material, and was incredibly comfy yet remained elegant. I settled on these Shopbop + Born Free pants designed by J.CREW, whose mission is to help stop mother-to-baby AIDS transmission with 100% of the profits going to the organization. I really liked the tassel detailing on the drawstring and the pockets, which gave the pants a bit more of whimsical element.
