NYFW Day 2: What Julia Wore!

Getting perfectly outfitted for New York Fashion Week is an important part of my planning for the week, and I was so relieved to have the tremendous opportunity to pick out some pieces from T.J.Maxx and Marshalls to wear, as I always find incredible on-trend, designer pieces of top notch quality at the stores. This Friday of fashion week resulted in a decidedly black and white aesthetic with a pop of color, thanks to my accessories; a very “it” look this season.

Staying cool yet prepared for the potential rain that threatened the earlier half of the week was crucial, and I felt pretty stylish, comfortable, and prepared for whatever came my way in these pieces. What FPD Wore: Fall 2014 Fashion Week, Day 7

Day 7!!! I finally felt well enough to ditch my glasses for the day, running all over the town to cover a bevy of backstage beauty looks, and doubling up on my jackets, because it is literally so cold outside, that it cuts through everything! I had a moment to take pause at the TRESemmé Styling and Trends event, capping off the evening and getting the breakdown on runway and red carpet looks from stylists Jeanie Syfu and John D., with commentary by TV personality and host Louise Roe!

I also learned about the new 7 Day Keratin Smooth line, which lasts through three shampoos/up to seven days, which will keep your hair shiny and frizz free, which is basically, fashion week-worthy hair!  Apologies that my photos are a bit dark; we were in the very cool, however slightly cavernous Landmarc restaurant at Columbus Circle.

What FPD Wore: Fall 2014 Fashion Week, Day 6

Brrr! This weather is no joke! Snow is on the ground, and with more on the way, I will definitely have a pair of boots on my feet for the last day of fashion week. Despite the frigid temperatures, ice, and snow on the ground, I’ve also had a cold ALL of fashion week, but with lots of vitamin C, I’m thinking I’m on the mend. I layered my J.Crew wool sweater underneath of my top for added warmth, and also worked a new bag into the fashion week outfit rotation – an Alexander Wang Rockie Crossbody Satchel look-a-like (everyone keeps thinking it’s the real deal!) for just $29.99 at T.J.Maxx — score!

What FPD Wore: New York Fashion Week Fall 2014 Day 1

[Day 1 of Fashion Week! #whatIworeNYFW ]

Day 1 of New York Fashion Week is behind us!  Dressing for the day was a bit of a challenge, since the weather was not as compliant as I would have liked. Serious boots were a must, so starting there, I tucked in my favorite khakis and new army shirt, layered on some jewels, and was good to go!

Courtesy of T.J.Maxx, I was able to shop and bring home with me some INCREDIBLE designer pieces, which are 100% on-trend and certainly fashion-week worthy! I went heavy on the accessories; two bracelets, a necklace, and a bag all came from the store, which I wore with gusto today (the bag will make an appearance later in the week).
