By staying mindful of an appropriate length, and choosing an elegant blouse or sweater to inside, leather doesn’t have to be too extreme for the workplace! Infuse a little Joan Holloway into your work routine with a stretchy sheath like this pencil skirt from Vince… but if black is a little too vampy for your taste, switch things up with blush leather or a pop of color like this Tibi skirt. Add movement despite the thick nature of the material with swingy pleats like this one from ASOS, or add visual interest with an exposed zipper and a gathered waist courtesy of Jason Wu. Either way, prepare to look at leather a whole new way!

Get Into The Military Trend With Cargo Shorts (thefind.com Guest Blog)

When I was in college, my favorite pants were a pair of super comfortable cargo pants that I wore with practically everything. So when I had to throw them out, they were falling to pieces. Cargo pants have always been a favorite of mine even when the fashion authorities have ruled them to be out of style. So when I was looking for a new pair of shorts to wear this summer, I was elated to see that cargo shorts are back in style!

Right off the coattails of the military style trend, utility cargo shorts is all about the feminine yet tough look that reminds me of Rosie the Riveter. I think the best way to wear cargo shorts is with a sense of balance. Add a basic slim fitting tank top or t-shirt for a super easy casual look. To dress it up, find a printed tunic and add a bold belt to top it all off. My favorite pick is the Vince Utility Short Shorts which you can find in khaki or army green!

Minimalist Gray Dresses for Maximum Impact

Gray is the go to color for the minimalist look this fall. Gray is a neutral that will give you maximum impact when detailed with pleats, draping, gathering and other sculptural elements. We love all of the options for gray dressing this fall. Minimalist sculptural gray dresses and coats work well with the black leggings, tights and super skinny jeans you already own. Black works well, but you can also get daring by partnering gray with primaries such as red, royal blue and yellow. Or go with a monochromatic look with various shades of gray. One of our editors’ favorites is the Marc Jacobs sweatshirt dress. This dress totally reminds us of the Norma Kamali huge shoulder padded dresses of the ’80s! The RM by Roland Mouret coat is a classic that you can wear for many seasons. Mouret is a true artist when it comes to draping and minimalist statement dressing. The coat reminds me of my warmest winter Hussein Chalayan coat from my favorite store, Workshop, in San Francisco. Go ahead and go neutral this fall and stock up on this wardrobe staple.
