It’s hard to think about booties when the blogs and the shoe departments are all about throwing platform espadrilles and summer sandals in our face everywhere we look, but when it comes to shoe trends, I’m all about taking things one season at a time! After all, it’s still spring, and there are plenty of on-trend seasonal ankle boots to take advantage of before we move on to strappy sandal territory — especially the heeled hiking boot! Of course, we fashionistas have absolutely zero intention to hike more than a few blocks in these bad boys, but the style is cool and utilitarian yet undoubtedly fierce — sort of a more feminized answer to the flat work boot trend which was a bit more obviously menswear-inspired. Rock them with a pair of skinny cargos or rolled-up chino pants and a floaty blouse and make the most of your spring booties before it gets too sweltering outside!
