Derek Lam for Kohl’s Helps us Get in a Rio State of Mind

by Julia DiNardo

From our friends at thefind.com:

Any bargain-loving fashionista is likely already well-versed in the many designer-for-less collaborations from the likes of Target, H&M, Uniqlo, and more… and now Kohl’s DesigNation program is proving that the superstore is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to copping designer looks for less! Derek Lam is the second designer to create a capsule collection for DesigNation, following in the footsteps of Narciso Rodriguez, and he’s channeling the spirit of Rio de Janeiro with a bright, festive spring/summer collection that’s sensual and fun but still sophisticated. Urban meets jungle in this versatile mix of trousers, shirt dresses, silky blouses, maxi skirts and more, with pieces priced from $36 to $98. The collection has already been out for a month, so unfortunately, some of the hot-ticket items are already sold out… but better late than never, right? Plus, there’s still plenty more sexy summer sundresses and fancy printed pants to go around! Shop the full collection here!

Perforated Pumps: Our Favorite Heels Go Sporty-Chic (thefind.com Guest Post)

by Julia DiNardo

From our friends at thefind.com:

One of my New Year’s resolutions for this year is to make an effort to actually wear all the shoes I have in my extensive collection. It’s a good idea, right? After all, it’s easy to get seduced by the latest new shoe trend and commit to snatching a pair off the shelf, but when it comes to actually getting your money’s worth in wear time, that’s a whole different story. I’d like to say I’m making some pretty good progress in my 2013 goal, but that doesn’t mean I’ve completely closed off my mind to new spring trends, and the latest perforated pumpsare providing a whole new temptation for my wandering shopping eye! Perforated details provide the perfect sporty-chic vibe to any classic pump – they’ve got that sexy tomboy vibe while still driving home that you’re still very fiercely feminine – and add a stylish dressed-down appeal while still appearing very sophisticated. Plus, there’s nothing like a little springtime breeze reaching your tired, achy feet without even having to take your shoes off! (Just kidding…. sort of.)

Add a Pop of Color With a Bright Skinny Belt! (thefind Guest Post)

by Julia DiNardo

From our friends at thefind.com:

Are you feeling a little ‘meh’ towards your wardrobe lately? Don’t fret – an entire new wardrobe isn’t the only answer, and your wallet doesn’t necessarily have to suffer in order to instill a little excitement into a seasonal style that’s going downhill. You’d be surprised at how much a simple accessory like a bright belt can add all-new structure, color, and style to an otherwise ‘blah’ old outfit! A skinny belt helps provide flattering shape in a way that doesn’t overpower your entire ensemble, but instead breathes new life into it – adding a fun dash of color that you can use to tie in coordinating accessories like shoes, bags, and even matching nail polish. From shiny neon patent to studs, bows, and textured calf-hair or braided rope styles, the possibilities are nearly endless, depending on the look you’re going for! Either way, you’ll be pleased at how much a belt can change your look – it’s a cinch!

Giejo Swimwear Summer 2012: Mixing & Matching Done Right! (thefind Guest Post)

by Julia DiNardo

From our friends at thefind.com:

It’s lucky for us not-so-coordinated fashionistas that purposeful mismatching happens to be very cool when it comes to effortlessly chic summer style. However, as many of us learn the hard way, there’s a fine line between stylish mismatching and just looking like you couldn’t find a matching bikini set in your messy closet (which is sometimes the case).Giejo Swimwear’s Summer 2012 collection helps less skilled swimsuit shoppers take the pain out of choosing the perfect contrasting patterns and pieces with a bevy of bikini tops and bottoms in stripes, tribal, and coordinating shades – all meant to mix and match effortlessly without looking like you picked out your suit in the dark! With sexy printed details that help tie the whole look together and a simple yet chic color palette that pops without clashing, you probably could literally could go shopping with your eyes closed and still end up with a covetable contrasting bikini… but we recommend keeping your eyes open while you browse this bikini eye candy, just for the fun of it!
