With the summer season coming quickly, bright colors and vibrant prints are becoming go-to looks for effortless warm weather style. For the past few spring seasons, tropical prints have been a prevalent trend in both clothing and accessories, and this spring is no different. Utilizing palm leaf designs, or rather oversized, gorgeously-splayed frond prints are an easy way to get into the spring or rather, tropical spirit, and luckily, there are more than enough options to choose from to channel this look. Try pairing these Target Palm Print Palazzo Pants with a simple top for an effortless, casual day out. For a slightly more formal feel, try Forever 21’s Contemporary Off the Shoulder Dress, or Asos.com Pink Palm Print Maxi Dress. In the accessories department, be sure to check out the Sonix Clear Bahama iPhone Case, or this oversized beach tote in a similar print, available online at etsy.com.

The most popular accessories that have emerged for this upcoming spring 2017 season have been anything but subtle or minimalist. Looking back at the Spring/Summer 2017 fashion week shows, designers mainly chose statement jewelry, bags, and other accessories to complement the looks in their collections. The most prominent looks to keep an eye out for include statement earrings, oversized handbags, wide belts, skinny scarves, platform footwear, and chokers.

Both Balenciaga and Marni included oversized bags for spring in their shows, while Roberto Cavalli and Lanvin kept the choker trend moving along with large, beaded versions in their collections. To get a more affordable version of this bold look, try the GUESS Multi-Row Choker, available online at Macy’s for $20. For an accessory flattering on almost every body, try wearing a wide belt, which appeared in the shows for Balmain and Les Copains. To try out this look for less, check out Urban Outfitters’ Coco Corset belt, available online for $29.

This past December, Pantone, the global authority of color trend information, debuted its newest color of the year: Greenery. Each color of the year choice is a symbolic representation of what is predicted to occur in global culture that year, and usually influences fashion, beauty, architecture, technology, food, and travel. Last year came with the release of not one, but two colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, a pale pink and pastel blue respectively. The pairing was meant to represent the recent blur of of gender norms in terms of fashion and everyday life, coinciding with gender equality movements around the world. The last time we saw a shade similar to this year was 2013’s color choice of Emerald, which was chosen to symbolize elegance and luxury.

Referred to as “nature’s neutral,” this years yellow-green tone carries the lightheartedness of the first days of spring, representing new beginnings, and a refreshing, revitalizing mood. Arriving in the midst of major changes to the social and political landscapes, Pantone wanted to evoke hopefulness, rebirth, and rejuvenation. Although the idea of “going green” is not a revolutionary one for 2017, the color also symbolizes a growing movement to protect nature amidst the ongoing fight against climate change.

Greenery has already made an appearance on several Spring 2017 Ready to Wear runways, like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Valentino. Although this shade may seem hard to wear, new arrivals in the beauty, accessories, and fashion industries are proving the tone to be easily wearable for anyone. Butter London released a nail polish to commemorate the newest color of the year, and cosmetics brands like NYX, MakeUpForEver, and Sephora all carry easy-to-use products in the green hue. In the accessories department, check out Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer Lightforce sunglasses in green and Burberry’s Small Banner Leather Tote in pale pistachio green. Surprisingly, Greenery can be easily paired with a wide variety of color combinations; try pairing the green tone with last year’s colors of pale pink and blue for a more bold look, or with neutral tones of beige, gold-browns, and cream for a more subtle pop.

For Spring 2017, Dr. Martens is revisiting its core collection with a slew of decidedly modern updates. The brand’s popularity had grown from a modest work boot to a pop culture darling with the explosion of the alternative/grunge music scene, as well as the expansion of festival culture and apparel, in which the Dr. Marten classic boots and sandals experienced a massive demand. The most iconic style is, of course, the 1460 “8-lace” boot,  and for this upcoming spring season, the brand makes sure to stay true to this classic silhouette, all the while reinterpreting them through the use of tie-dye and bandana prints, as well as updated rugged leather throughout the collection.

For the women’s styles, Dr. Martens offers a wide variety of products separated into six categories: originals, re-invented, refined, fusion, contemporary casual, and casual comfort. The originals line focuses on the brands most classic styles, including the 1460 and 1461 boots, as well as hearty selection of Mary Jane options. Expect to see these in bright new colors, enhanced zipper details, and even exclusive Valentine’s Day styles. Dr. Martens also ventures into new products that cull its softer side, with suede loafers in neutral tones and new approaches to the iconic Chelsea boot.

Make sure to keep a look out for these cant-miss new arrivals come springtime; all of the new spring 2017 styles will retail between $60 and $175, and will be available online and in select Dr. Marten stores worldwide in the coming months.

In the meanwhile, however, click through the slideshow above for a sneak peek at the upcoming spring looks from Dr. Martens.
