[Featured is the Sorrelli Arya Slider Bracelet in Rhodium Seersucker]
And thus, the small business series kicks off! The first three companies to be featured this week not only are all from my home state of Pennsylvania, but are all family businesses. How great!
Sorrelli is no stranger to Fashion Pulse Daily, as we’ve supported each other and worked together on fun creative projects over the years. The jewelry brand, based in Kutztown, PA, has an endless array of styles, mainly set with beautiful, varying shades of crystal or stone, and makes the ideal Mother’s Day gift (in my opinion…and yes, I’m dropping a hint!). Right now you can receive 20% off of all full-priced jewelry via code “SOLOYAL20,” and 25% of the proceeds from the brand’s Essentials collection will be donated to the COVID-19 Food Relief Fund. Additionally, the brand has used its factory and sourced material to make hundreds of civilian masks, and has been able to find and donate hundreds of surgical-grade ones to two local hospitals. Go Sorrelli!

Classic gifts maintain their luster for several reasons, with attributes such as being across-the-board crowd pleasers, providing instant gratification, and are relatively easy to buy and gift. As much as I feel I don’t gravitate toward traditional things, receiving two classic gifts such as jewelry or flowers will 100% make my day. This year, I wanted to share gift guides with products that serve as unique, thoughtful, and memorable, and below have included a select number of companies that fulfill just that this holiday season.
When it comes to flowers, try:

New York Fashion Week is the time when you bring out the big fashion guns, dressing your best, but also if you are prudent, balancing the right amount of comfort with pizazz. I really wanted to take part in the lace trend, as I just find the execution of lace dresses these days absolutely stunning. Looking to some of my favorite designers for the look, I settled on a piece from Nanette Lepore, which has the right amount covered up in the right places, as lace can tend to be see-through, and I wanted the focus to be on the collections, not how visible my underwear may be!
The right foundation garments are important, and nude-colored spandex shorts have replaced the slip, which add for extra movement and lower the visibility of seeing what is underneath. You’re bound to see another lace garment or two on Fashion Pulse Daily soon, but until then, stay tuned for more NYFW looks.

Right now, we are in a transitional state. The seasons are not only on the cusp of shifting, but so is the mentality regarding fashion week. Designers seem divided in their stance; some, like Rebecca Minkoff, and now, Banana Republic, bucked the traditional fashion week showing of the following season (i.e. spring/summer 2017 shown in September of 2016, fall/winter 2017 shown in February, 2017), for a “see now, buy now” approach, with items immediately available for purchase, and relevant to the time of year in which they are sold. This definitely is a great idea and caters to the consumer; I think its long term success will be based in the widespread adoption of this concept, as it can otherwise cause confusion as to what is available for sale now, or for six months from now.
