Monday Morning

by Julia DiNardo

P1110146

Mondays have the tendency to…not really be that cool. They can cause a lot of anxiety and trepidation for the lot of us, despite loving life, loving our jobs, and/or loving our paychecks. I’m thrilled for those of us that have the day off today, but next Monday will surely come, and more of the same feeling will creep in again. Lately, in order to try to kick away the Monday blues I’ve been starting the week with an outfit that I absolutely love that is no frills, easy to wear, and versatile for a variety of occasions.

I’ve also been starting the week with an early morning photo session, when the sun is in that special place, and I haven’t had coffee yet, which could potentially be a perilous endeavor. Wearing what I love and doing what I love, first thing in the morning on the first day of the work week has helped to set the precedent for positivity and productivity for the rest of my days, spent grinding away on various work projects, some considered to be chores I’d rather not be doing.

Sometimes it’s just taking a few minutes to slow down, taking a quiet morning moment to read a section of the newspaper at the table, or listening to your favorite song while on the way to work, can reset you mentally and get you to accept what you need to do, and give you the peace of mind to get through it.

When it comes to editing down the list of my favorite ShoeDazzle footwear styles to just a mere few, I am having a MAJOR problem. The trouble, you see, is that there are so many amazing ones to take in for the spring/summer 2015 season, that it is an impossible task to whittle it down to a select few. This week I previewed the mainly shoe, and some handbag offerings that will available on the site, rolling out on a monthly basis now through July that do a nice job of encompassing the key trends of the season, spanning a nice variety of lifestyles and occasions where they would be right at home (see the slideshow above for my must-haves).

Some of the key trends I observed were the use of tassels, bows, and ornate jewels, cut-out and perforation detailing, bouclé, nautical, embossed exotic animal skin, heavy chrome,  ethnic prints, graphic black and white elements, and gladiator-style, lace-up tie options. The collection was certainly an exercise in great style at fabulous prices; with new silhouettes frequently rolling out and a curated showroom option at ShoeDazzle.com to showcase styles meant just for you, prepare for your spring/summer 2015 look to surge to new style heights you’ve only imagined. Now there’s only one thing left to do: pick your most beloved, vibrant spring/summer nail polish shade and get thee a pedicure!

ShoeDazzle for Spring & Fall

by Julia DiNardo

Have you been ShoeDazzle‘d yet? If not, it’s a great time to check out the site, as older items are moving out with the last day of the Memorial Day sale (if you don’t have an account yet, it takes two minutes to sign up for a free one), while new silhouettes are constantly moving in every single month! The website brings runway styles down to earth with affordable price points; take for example, I recently got three pairs of shoes (two were courtesy of ShoeDazzle), which only came to $105 for all three.  Yes.

Besides the brand’s private label, more brands have joined ShoeDazzle’s stable of affordable stylishness, along with a boutique of footwear and accessories curated by Rachel Zoe. Which also means…yes, you can shop handbags and jewelry too at ShoeDazzle!

For spring, login to view the latest offerings, which include pops of neon, metallic, faux snakeskin and more.  For fall, I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but it’s EVEN better, running the gamut from flats to 4.5 inch stilettos that you will anxiously await to view and buy. Some highlights include basket weave covered platforms, lucite heels, and perfectly woven espadrille wedges, alongside sparkled, studded, and vibrantly printed flats and sneakers. Just as you suspected, it’s about time to check out ShoeDazzle for great spring, and eventually fall, footwear and accessories.

Striking Color and ShoeDazzle

by Julia DiNardo

No matter what the temperature, a pop of color will brighten up your day, even if the skies outside are grey. I really wanted to wear my new cutout wedges, a complimentary pair I received from my showroom at ShoeDazzle.  Within a few minutes of walking into work, several people were gushing over how great these shoes are, and I have to say I completely agree! If you’re not familiar with ShoeDazzle, it’s a site that functions around you filling out a few style-related questions, then you get personalized selections of shoes and bags based on your preferences.

It’s free to sign up, and every single pair of shoes on the site are $39.95 with free shipping and returns, plus you get 20% off your first purchase. I just looked in my ‘showroom’ on the site, which just rotated in fall boots; under $40 is a pretty good deal for this inclement weather must-have, that includes knee-high boots.  Have you joined ShoeDazzle or another site with styles based on personal preferences?
