Revlon CustomEyes Tested!

by Julia DiNardo

We are becoming more and more like professional makeup artists. The knowledge, the tips, the tricks are all accessible – we just have to now do it! The Revlon CustomEyes Shadow & Liner is a great example of the process being laid out for you – on the back of each palette it tells you the order to apply the color and where.

I tested out the Rich Temptations palette, following the instructions exactly, which made me think about the layering of color, and how I have a very light hand when it comes to the application of makeup to the face. I almost didn’t want to interrupt the quilted pattern on the eyeshadow, as it was just so pretty to look at! Overall the custom palette was easy to use, the colors blended well and were incredibly smooth and matte, making the shadows the perfect transition from a busy day of shopping at the mall with my best friend to dinner that night for my boyfriend’s mom’s bday.

Win Revlon’s New CustomEyes Shadow & Liner!

by Julia DiNardo

Used during Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week, Revlon‘s newest items, the CustomEyes Shadow and Liner could be yours! You can win three items from the new collection.

The six color-coordinated palettes contain four eye shadows and one built-in powder eyeliner each.  You can also find a ‘how to’ guide on the back of the palette to show how to best use the CustomEyes Shadow & Liner; for example where to apply what color. and in what order. It’s kind of like having a makeup artist do your eyes — actually even better – you become the makeup artist!

These palette just became available in January, retail for $8.99 each, and are available in Metallic Chic, Naturally Glamorous, Party Pops, Rich Temptations, Smoky Sexy and Sweet Innocenc.

Revlon Perfect Pedicure Nails: You Reviewed It!

by fashionpulse

Three Fashion Pulse Daily readers took the challenge of testing out, photographing, and reporting back on their experience with the new Revlon Perfect Pedicure Toe Nails. Thanks so much to Vanessa S., Ashley C., and Clare P.!  Here’s their photos and what they thought:

I was curious to try fake toenails because I thought it would be great for sandal season.  Since I have small toenails, it took a while for me to find the right sizes, but I was happy with the way the nails fit.  The glue in the kit is a lot stronger than other nail glues I have tried, and even after being warned about the glue, I spent most of the application time prying my fingers off my toes.  However, I really liked the finished look and was pleased to have cute toes to show off.  The downside was that nails started popping off after one day, so I had to keep replacing nails for the week I wore them.  I would recommend the Perfect Pedicure kit for a special occasion.

– Ashley C. (check out her blog, The Fashion Planner)

For a girl who only had her first manicure last week after finally deciding to stop biting my nails, a pedicure was the next logical step. So when Julia contacted me asking if I’d like to try out one of her Revlon Perfect Pedicure Kits I, of course, said yes. When the little package arrived I was rather wary after hearing the glue was VERY strong but went along with it anyway. They were not lying, the glue is extremely strong, so much so that I don’t even feel like I’m wearing fake nails which I suppose is a very good thing. They come in a range of sizes which is great for my petite toes, but alas, they didn’t make small enough ones for my smallest toe so it had to stay un-pedicured. Overall, the effect is very nice and does make me feel rather fancy though they are a little long for my liking.
-Clare P. (check out her blog, Tweet)

There is one word to describe the Revlon Pedicure….Excellent!!  After I separated and matched up the pedicure to my own nails, it took about ten minutes to apply.  I purposefully took a long, hot bath a couple of hours after applying and they did not budge.  I worked out on the treadmill for thirty minutes, three days in a row, without any problems, in terms of them popping off or experiencing any discomfort.  To take my test one step further, I even walked around in the mall for approximately three hours…Still, no problems.

After eight days of wearing the nails, I highly recommend them and give the Revlon Pedicure a “Thumbs Up”!!.  I find them to be very natural looking, as well as economical!!
