WhoWhatWear’s upcoming collection with Target, inspired mainly by modern street style looks, features a variety of affordable and versatile pieces all under $50. Designed by popular fashion website WhoWhatWear.com founders Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power, the look-book has styles for everyone, whether it’s for the office or a casual day out.

Staple pieces include the Minimal Moto Jacket in Ebony ($44.99), the Taupe Trench Coat ($49.99), and the Slim Boyfriend Jean ($34.99). Perfect-for-spring prints, such as delicate florals, thin stripes, and polka-dots all make an appearance. Crossbody bags in neutral tones begin start at $19.99, skinny scarves are marked at $14.99, with both being ideal for accessorizing any complete look in the collection.

Overall, most styles are effortless and can be easily styled by anyone looking to build their wardrobe at an affordable price. Select styles will be carried in plus sizes, and some pieces will be available exclusively on target.com. The collection will be carried in over 800 Target stores nationwide beginning today, January 31st.

Sneak Peek: Marni for H&M

by fashion pulse contributor

The Marni collection at H&M, beyond being highly anticipated, will take on a distinct personality. Consuelo Castiglioni desired to create a “playful range of style possibilities” with prints that pop, innovative sportiness, and an energetic sophistication that recurs throughout. You can expect the signature juxtaposition of shapes in loose dresses, shirts and tops, slender skirts, and well-constructed knits.

Relaxed ensembles crafted of parkas and zip ups have an unexpected sophistication when paired with long Bermuda shorts ($49.95) and suit pants. The patent leather zip up tops ($149) will redefine the basics, as will the silk front cardigans boasting a knitted back. We love the lilac gold brocade against an otherwise practical color palette: black, navy, olive green, khaki, rust and orange. What’s more, there are plenty of abstract patterns that manage to go with everything. Accessories are bold, eclectic and sculptural. Sequined shirt collars ($19.95) as necklaces, resin bracelets meant to be stacked, quirky straw hats and more! We challenge you to blindly grab two pieces and make your perfect Marni combination. In essence, this will define the compilation.

Get ready to explore this ingenious collection for spring, every fashion visionary’s dream. The collection will be available from March 8th, in about 260 stores worldwide, as well as on-line!

Fall 2012 Fashion Week: Whitney Eve

by fashion pulse contributor

Whitney Port may have finally proven that she can be taken seriously as a designer, after she presented a collection that felt both vintage and fresh simultaneously. With quintessentially feminine cocktail dresses and heavily embellished shorts (love!), Whitney Eve amped up evening wear in a vibe that felt refreshed and perhaps slightly Cali. The shattered, kaleidoscopic prints and luxe velvet fabric felt unusually classic in jewel tones, a rare treasure to behold, when done well. Whereas the peplum blouses, textured cardigans, and laid back suiting are sure to become the go-to work wear for the young, modern girl, Port’s signature layering pieces were present, with the mix up of eclecticism and whimsical femininity that caught our attention. A keen eye like Whitney Port’s may be exactly what today’s girl-on-the-go needs for Fall 2012.

Fall 2012 Fashion Week: Tracy Reese, Custo Barcelona

by fashion pulse contributor

Tracy Reese

Color for fall is a seemingly common theme on the runways, but Tracy Reese‘s take was certainly her own as she continued doing what she loves: bold color (juicy reds and yellows) and adventurous prints. Those short sleeve cocktail dresses oozed metallic superiority. Meanwhile, the peplum jackets with skinny trousers communicated a more sophisticated, feminine, sweet sensation. Silk blouses, cowl neck sweaters, graphic embellishments, and fur collars often stood out.

Custo Barcelona

Talk about zeal for fashion, texture, and color! Custo Barcelona‘s Fall 2012 Runway show aimed to give “homage to the pioneers of creativity.” The show was full of fervor, a whirlwind of color, fringe, sparkles and volumes. Jackets were a sure highlight of the collection with electrifying metallic applications and technically finished fabrics. Cocoon shapes were our personal favorite, but there were also strong versions of uniformed length. There was something native in the raw cuts of the collection, or perhaps the symbolic color representations: white for purity, red for love, green for nature, brown for earth, and black for unity. The overall expression was the love child of art and culture.
