What’s it like to work out, run, or just generally do activities that may cause your chest to bounce and move, when you have a cup size of D or higher? It really sucks, I’ve been told by family and friends, who feel like they are constantly fighting with their bodies in regard to this issue.
After three years of research, the British brand Panache has delivered a sports bra designated specifically for sizes D and higher, which uses what they call encapsulation; instead of smooshing and flattening the chest, Panache sports bras separately encapsulate and support each breast. By doing this, Panache says it reduced bounce by 83%, and of course we had to give it a test run here over at FPD! The ‘tester’ was Fashion Pulse Mom, and we first examined the bra, which we both agreed was extremely well made and liked the adjustable strap option in the back as well as the molded cups and seemingly secure underband. We hit the Urban Active gym in Pittsburgh’s Bakery Square, so that Mom could go about her usual routine of stretching and cardio to gauge the results. The verdict: two thumbs up from Fashion Pulse Mom, everything ‘stayed put.’
The Sports Bra by Panache retails for $68, available in black, white, gray, or purple, in sizes 28-40 D-H (note: British sizes slightly differ than American ones; refer to size chart at the site you purchase them from, i.e. 36DDD is a British 36E).
