The Show: The Blonds
The Theme: Tweety Bird Goes to Space
The Color Palette: Yellow, Blue, Silver, Black, and White
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: For next spring, design duo Phillipe and David Blond looked to another iconic blonde as the inspiration for their latest concoction of looks. Drawing on Tweety Bird’s bright yellow plumage and huge blue eyes, The Blonds created a bejeweled, feathered leotard that gave a luxe and intergalactic update to the classic character. This latest series of designs continued to embody the designers’ sassy and mischievous attitude in a way that would make the iconic bird proud.

The Show: Dennis Basso
The Theme: Celebrating the Woman Who Knows What She Wants (and Just How to Get it)
The Color Palette: Black and White, Pastel Blue, Pastel Pink, Tangerine
The Signature Look of the Collection: Basso has proven that he can translate his luxurious sensibility and expertise in all things fur and exotic leather into a viable eveningwear business that flourishes every season by taking his design approach of sturdy structure and softening it up with fluid, floor-sweeping gowns to scalloped, hip-hugging lace shorts paired with shapely vests and moto jackets. There’s no better fête for a fashion company’s 30th anniversary, as Basso is celebrating this year, than with an incredibly precise, and refreshing, collection. Spring could prove a particular challenge, as fur accents here and there are one thing, but can’t be relied upon heavily to define a silhouette. Basso takes it all in stride, proving that his garments can certainly stand on their own, but don’t they just look polished and 100% complete with a bit of fur nipping at the cuffs?

The Show: Catherine Malandrino Spring/Summer 2014
The Theme: St.Tropez, Resort Chic
The Color Palette: Shades of Pink, Red, Green Blue, Nautical Prints, White, and Black.
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: While there were traces of Malandrino’s signature eyelet knits, the blue jumpsuit absolutely stole the show. Comprised of a harem pant and a stunning silk trimmed hood, this piece represents chic versatility which elegantly possesses the evening wear category as well. Whether paired with sneakers or stiletto heels, worn on a Caribbean resort or through the concrete streets of New York, the sharp yet easy silhouette of the piece allows for a slick and modern, yet timeless look, in all locations, for all occasions!
