After leaving in New York City for 11 years, I really have no idea how I didn’t know about Lester’s!
Best described as a mini-department store with well-known contemporary brands as well as their own private label, Lester’s has clothing, footwear, accessories, and cute gift ideas for Mom, you, and the kiddies too! The most adorable kids clothing, items for camp, and a lot of customizable (caboodles!) and monogramming options (bags, necklaces) exist at the store (turnaround time is about 2-3 weeks). Amongst many things, I quickly fell in love with the well-edited shoe collection, which has a range of casual and running sneakers to Dolce Vita wedges and the perfect metal d’orsay heels for prom. Now with six locations (Rye, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Greenvale (Long Island), Huntington (Long Island), and Deal (New Jersey)), check out the Lester’s that is most convenient for you; I went to the one on the Upper East Side, at 80th and Second Avenue.
