The Windows Phone has one goal: to put people first. I joined a group on Monday, November 7th in NYC’s Herald Square to discover what this phone is all about. The Microsoft Mobile Operating System enables easier sharing, boasts cool applications, and of course, a better overall web experience.
Windows crafted a gigantic mock phone for live entertainment as part of its debut, while the phone itself features a front screen with Live “Tiles” so as to pin your applications to the start screen. Easily see what’s happening with your apps, your social networks, any upcoming appointments, weather updates, or simply who called you while you weren’t near the phone in one glance. Pin anything on the Start Live Tiles to keep them handy.
I also tested out some of the new features that the Windows Phone 7 “Mango” offers; the “Groups” feature helps you focus on the contacts that matter most. You can organize friends and colleagues into groups and then you can easily text, chat, or email an entire group at once. The “Picture Hub” is great for emailing, tweeting or texting a photo all from one place. Finally, the “Office Hub” has mobile versions of Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint for quick on-the-go work access! Seamless social networking, fast browsing and built-in productivity are just some of the reasons to love the phone. Discover more features here.
