The Prada creeper set it all off (or set us all back in time, rather) to the ’70s, and then ’90s rugged platform or “flatform” sole, popular for both men and women and now making a comeback in a major way. The balance is pairing with either filmy, super soft and flowing fabrics, or hard leather items. Balance an accordion pleat maxi-length skirt or cuffed, faded and ripped jeans with a pair of inflexible, rubbery soled shoes that may sport an open toe, oxford style, or ankle strap option as well. Choose a sole that is straight all the way across with a bit of a lift (flatform), or opt for one with more of a traditional lift and corrugated/cleated/lug sole.
The most important part? Make sure that the sole is white! I know I know, it’s not the most practical hue, but it sure looks great when maintained and meticulously wiped and cleaned after every outing.
