Building Wardrobe Confidence with Accessories (& Marshalls)!

If you bumped into your idol, the person you most admire, or would be star struck by today, would you be ashamed or confident in what you are wearing? I know it’s a bit of an extreme question, but one time it happened to me, and all I could focus on was what I had on, and wished that I was wearing something else, as the look wasn’t representative of me and my style.

“Networking is something you should be doing anywhere and everywhere and all day long,” shares career expert Nicole Williams. “Which is why you always want to feel good with what you’re wearing when you head out the door – you never know when you’ll meet someone with shared professional interests.”

So right you are Nicole, and although a full-on wardrobe overhaul can be daunting, I find it easiest to start off with the smaller details.

The best kind of shopping experiences are the ones that make the most of your time, so I love that I can walk into a T.J.Maxx or Marshalls and pick up a gorgeous wood picture frame, a desktop organizer, throw pillows, a spatula, children’s books, running shoes, and designer leather jacket in one fell swoop. Who has time to go from store to store nowadays? Certainly not many people that I know! Besides the essentials in fashion and home décor, the stores also boast a hearty selection of holiday décor and home furnishings at incredible prices, so you can feel guilt-free when buying that Halloween wreath, reindeer-themed throw blanket, or sea horse lamp.

You’ll of course find seasonless pieces that will move with you from room to room, and even home to home, along with your favorite clothing and accessories for the off-price retailers. Marshalls fall press preview proved to be an event not to miss, with everything from gorgeous barware to fitness equipment, chic booties, and leather jackets in the mix! I fell in love with an olive hued leather jacket by Marc New York, which now requires met to stop in every Marshalls location that I see in search of it! While doing so this weekend, actually, I stumbled across some great Le Creuset cookware pieces in the home section, and picked up some adorable items in the children’s section for one of my friend’s kids, ending up with a ton of gifts for under $20!

I’m sure you know by now that designer fashion and home decor from Marshalls helps turn every day into an occasion for fabulous, and you can’t beat the quality and price of the on-trend, affordable items. P.S. -there were PLENTY of Halloween costumes for kids AND pets at the Marshalls I visited this weekend, so in case you want to get some extra savings this season, I recommend checking it out!
