The most original, creative, handmade  gifts have one community-based home, and it’s Etsy.com. I’ve loved being a seller there for the past seven years, and the shopping experience is equally as great as the interactions and new relationships that I’ve built with my fellow sellers. In due part to my history with purchasing from and using the site, I was extra excited to attend the Etsy 2015 holiday preview a few weeks ago, in which artisans, designers, crafts folk were there on-hand with their creations.

Meeting the person who made your wares make them extra special and appreciated, so I was thrilled to do that, and bring some of my favorite items from the preview to you, so that you can shop all of the awesomeness as well. As you’ll see via the slideshow above, there is a great range of product for him, for her, for baby, and for home. Some of the personalized options are my favorite, and you can never go wrong with hand-crafted jewelry, in my opinion! Which Etsy goods are on your must-have list?

For anyone who has ever admired nail art from afar but lacks the funds or the skills to try it for themselves, rejoice, for there is hope. Self-taught nail artist Jessica Hapak has mastered the art of creating beautiful, eye-catching artificial nails that are guaranteed to garner compliments each time you wear them. From animal print and 3D designs to specialty nails for the holidays, Jessica’s Etsy shop, Let Them Sparkle, offers something for everyone’s style.

She even takes special commissions and custom requests curated toward the customer which certainly show off her artistic skills and exercise in patience alongside her eye for combining color and detail. Jessica even created a custom set for FPD to try out! Once the one-of-a-kind nails arrived in the mail, we were delighted to unwrap a lineup that included a set of white lace, cheetah print, Christmas-themed, and a gradient set that sported FPD’s colors of punched up pink and blue. But aside from the amazing hand-wrought designs, the best part about these nails are their low, low prices, with sets ranging from just $9 to $15. Currently we’ve got our eye on a set of Chanel-inspired nails, and with Halloween coming up LetThemSparkle has everything you need to take your manicure to the next level (check out these candy corn nails!).

Check out Jessica’s online shop, Let Them Sparkle, here!

Full Disclosure: FPD received complimentary items to review for this post.

Animal-Friendly, Faux Skins on Exotic Shoes, Bags, and Jewelry

by fashion pulse contributor

[Topshop Loco V Throat Sandal, $50 (only available in size 8.5, 9.5, 10.5)]

Accessories in skins can transition any outfit from bland to brilliant. While head-to-toe snakeskin may be a bit much, a pop of skin on a bag or shoe is just enough for less obvious attention. These accessories can blend seamlessly with many looks starting right now and into the fall season.

However, why not take the cruelty -free approach? Animal lovers can still appreciate luxury, well-made animal-friendly accessories that are also quite budget-friendly. Try the brilliant Topshop sandal (above) now with jeans and a tank, or in the fall again with socks or black tights. Or, the House of Harlow Clutch (see below) can take you to an elegant, outdoor wedding or a casual, indoor date night when paired properly. Don’t shy away from faux exotic skin textures and prints! Let us help you master this trend while keeping your entire look in moderation check, and protecting the little critters and creatures of the world.
