For Spring 2018, bags are truly coming in all shapes and sizes. Most prevalent of these on the most recent Spring 2018 runways is the circle bag, as many designers opted for unique silhouettes rather than classic styles. Featured in shows like Anya Hindmarch, Balmain, Christian Siriano, and Dolce & Gabbana, this style came complete in bold colors with fun embellishments, perfect for any occasion, day or night.
Most come in a convenient cross body style, making this piece easy to carry around for everyday use. For a version that’s slightly edgier, look for the circle silhouette in a clutch style, like this 3.1 Phillip Lim Alix Circle Clutch. To get the look yourself, make sure to also check out pieces like Brahmin’s Lane Melbourne bag, Anthropologie’s Carolina Circular Crossbody Bag, or Bembien’s Rose Bag, all of which are available online.

Some key trends from New York and London carried over into Milan Fashion Week, while others were being seen for the first time on the runway this season. These newer trends though, introduced by Italian brands, were just as bold and statement-making as their predecessors. One major trend for spring 2018 in both clothing and accessories is the use of feathers. Designers like Alberta Ferretti, Dolce & Gabbana, and Erika Cavallini all debuted feather-detailed pieces in their latest collections.
Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio of Attico utilized feathers in the form of a cream colored handbag that accompanied the styling in their retro-inspired collection. On the bolder side of things, Jeremy Scott of Moschino opened his show with an extra-voluminous tulle tutu coated in pastel blue feathers. Dolce and Gabbana‘s elaborate spring 2018 show, with a theme described as “Queen of Hearts,” included a multi-colored coat completely canvassed in feathers.

Did Dolce and Gabbana kidnap models from their beds and then march their sleepy heads down the Milan runway? Leave it to the genius fashion minds at this renowned Italian fashion house to make the “rolled out of bed look,” chic — actually scratch that — couture! The design duo paired classic silk men’s pajama tops and bottoms with full and textured skirts and colorful blazers with poufy sleeves, and we even saw this new signature style as a bathing suit! We also were astonished with the multiple ways silk ribbons were used as accessories in the form of belts, bowties, and brooches. The collection concluded with pastel Cinderella gowns adorned with flowers that left us in the middle of a fairytale dreamland. When we wake up, we’ll be sure to snatch some pajamas out of our boyfriend’s closet, but we’re sure it won’t look nearly as cool as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s versions!
