A consistent go-to for nearly every spring/summer collection is the bohemian look, and this season has not strayed away from that one bit. Bohemian prints were a staple on many runways this New York Fashion Week, fitting in perfectly with the loose-fitting, laid-back silhouettes that almost every designer turned to for their most recent lineup. In Nicholas K‘s safari and desert-inspired show, the design duo used geometric patterns on flowing garments in neutral earth tones, all of which contributed to the relaxed mood of the collection as a whole. Jill Stuart, who one can usually turn to to find edgier and more dramatic pieces, chose to incorporate boho floral prints on lengthier  dresses, channeling a different yet still feminine look than is usually found on her runway.

Rebecca Minkoff‘s collection(separate from her “see-now, buy-now collection she also presented) featured an abundance of day-to-night pieces, including an almost-sheer floral tiered hem dress, ideal for her target market of young shoppers In Naeem Kahn‘s latest Spring/Summer lineup, he included romantic bohemian embroidery on a few of his pieces, which quickly became a highlight of his show this season. Thom Browne’s expectedly elaborate runway show featured bohemian looks mainly in terms of his completely pastel, relaxed color palette, complete with pastel blue lipstick. His dresses clearly combined fashion with art, as the prints were made to give the illusion of tailoring, while actually just being a part of the dress itself.

Click through the slideshow above to see how other designers channeled this classic trend, sure to show up in your wardrobe in time for next spring.

House of Harlow, WinterKate

Nicole Richie’s distinct look came from being constantly surrounded by entertainers, costumes, designers, and other inspirations. Costume dressing is most important to the House of Harlow jewelry and Winter Kate apparel collection. Half bohemian goddess, half tribal queen equals one fully covetable collection.

M. Patmos

Marcia Patmos continues to be inspired by art, architecture, and design. Her goal is to make easy, understated clothing that incorporates strength, ease, and grace. Easy summer cardigans and tees are paired with light, breezy shorts ideal for the casual woman.

Leroy & Perry

Two adventurous friends drew on their love of fashion to create this eco-friendly  line. Think easy, nonchalant and seasonless with casual separates. You’ll make the most adorable fisherwoman with their nautical striped pieces!

Lauren Moffatt

A love for all things vintage began Lauren Moffat’s design career. Already named a designer to watch by both WWD and Vogue, Moffat’s love for art and color shows in Spring 2012’s lovable swimwear, airy blouses, and adorable printed dresses.

Housed at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum located on E 91st Street and 5th Avenue in New York City, the jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels has claimed the featured spot within the museum’s exhibitions running now through June 5th, 2011 (click here for the museum hours).  The first floor has entirely been dedicated to showcase the sparkle and shine of the jewels, diamonds, precious stones, and golden jewelry, accessories and time-pieces that Van Cleef & Arpels had artistically designed and created during the 20th century.  With over 350 pieces of polished art works, the exhibit also includes the original sketches and design draw-ups of the pieces before their execution as amazing baubles.  Encased in protective glass bubbles, each piece represents the genius, contribution, and art of Van Cleef & Arpels to timeless notions of fashion, jewelry, and style.
