Skincare has undoubtedly become a standout segment of the beauty industry in recent months, with shoppers seemingly becoming just as interested in skincare-only brands as they are in other cosmetics brands. One of the newer trends encompassed in the popular rise in attention to skincare is products that incorporate technology and high-tech features.
Brands like Neutrogena, Foreo, Clinique, and Homedics have all released products that use technology to promise clearer, cleaner, and more radiant skin. If you’re looking for a new, innovative way to treat acne and breakouts, check out Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Acne Mask. The product uses red and blue lights to fight off bacteria and inflammation, which ultimately lead to breakouts and redness. The brand also offers a smaller version of the product, which acts as a spot treatment for individual breakouts.
Foreo recently released a personalized facial cleansing brush and anti-aging device called the Luna 2, which comes in four different styles for different skin types. On the low-tech, manual side of the spectrum is the noteworthy Herbivore Botanical’s Jade Facial Roller. Jade rollers have been known to have benefits such as improving facial blood circulation, elasticity, reducing dark under-eye circles, and tightening and reducing pore size.

Ease of use, results, and fun is what makeup should represent, and Clinique perfectly encapsulates this with its newest shades and products, available now at Clinique counter nationwide and at Clinique.com.
The new Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18) is a combo product that both nourishes and conditions lips with shea and murumuru butters and eight-hour wear that glides on at the perfect texture – a great mixture between luminous and matte. Available in 16 shades, the sleek packaging looks great displayed on your vanity or summoned out of your bag for a quick reapplication. Select from a neutral hue to one that provides an instant pop of color; my favorite is the Punch Pop, followed by the deeper Soda Pop hue.
The Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Colours ($21) are sheer in order to build a natural flush of color on your face, with a silken powder formula that’s lightweight and easily blendable. The new shades include melon pop and fig pop, featuring the embossed Gerbera daisy design on the surface.

I tested a TON of beauty products this week, so here’s a flash of what’s new, good, and a must for summer and fall 2014!

I’m having a blast with Garnier this week, and wanted to share the brand’s new products, available for purchase starting this summer! The Garnier Fructis Style De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finish Spray (available in July for $4.29) utilizes micro-mineral powder for 24 hour grip and texture that goes on clear, sans any stickiness or residue. It’s the perfect style in a bottle for those of us (okay, all of us!) who lead busy lives and only have about 30 seconds to style our hair! Also from Garnier is the Color Styler (available in August for $7.99), considered “Intense Wash Out Color” that comes in five vibrant shades that you may want to experiment with over the weekend or for a special occasion but not fully commit to! The shades include Blue Burst, Pink Pop, Red Temptation, Bronze Attitude and Purple Mania, and are water-based pigments that last just 2-3 shampoos so that you can have a little fun without fully committing to attach-getting color !

I was so thrilled that I got to play with the newest from Maybelline this week (coming out in July) in a master class lead by the new global makeup artist for the brand, Yadim.
About the new products:
Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream- Gel Shadow Leathers Collection ($6.99 each) is THE new collection to try, comprised of five incredibly perfect, saturated shades, while Color Show goes extra sparkly with the Veils and Jewels Nail Effects line of nail lacquer in 10 glitzy and glam options ($3.99 each), and Baby Lips get a dose of great color and shine in its Crystal collection of six shimmer-infused shades ($4.49 each). The Eye Studio Master line now has a Master Kajal line of four saturated hues ($7.99 each), and the concept of foundation is re-worked with this ultra sheer, easily blendable Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation formula with a lovely tear drop applicator (available in 12 shades, $10.99 each). Last, I’m already pretty obsessed with the Nudes Palette, 12 great eye shadow colors that provide a variety of textures from matte to shimmery for a natural or enhanced look ($11.99). All in all, this summer is chock full of fabulous beauty products from Maybelline that you certainly won’t be able to resist!

The brand new product JUST became available at Clinique counters and online at Clinique.com in two skin type options of dry/dry combo and combo oily/oil skin.

[Red Apple Lipstick shades of Fierce, Rebel!, Sunkissed, and Rallye (Clear) Balm]
As quoted on
BeautyHigh, one of my beauty resolutions for 2014 was to experiment with darker shades of lipstick, and upon seeing the shade “Fierce” by
Red Apple Lipstick ($23.50 each), I knew it had to be on my must-have list! The brand itself certainly piqued my interest; a mineral-based formula and free of gluten, parabens, toxins, overall allergens, and soy, and Made in the USA, I like that the brand features real women wearing the various lipstick shades on the site, as well as provides application tips for a stellar pout.
I found each product to as opaque, yet moisturizing as expected, and the clear Rallye Balm ($15) truly felt luxurious sliding on! The brand has great customer service and a generous return policy (return up to six months from the purchase date), while products (also includes makeup brushes, lipgloss, liners, more) are exclusively available through Red Apple Lipstick’s website.
