The Fendi fashion house recently partnered with New York design and architecture duo Aranda/Lasch to create a fashion-meets-installation-art initiative called Modern Primitives. The collaboration is a part of Fendi‘s “Fatto a Mano for the Future” platform (handmade for the future), and merges the house’s old world craftsmanship with the architects’ modern “octahedron” structures. Aranda and Lasch are currently working on a prototype iPad app that will allow Fendi fans to design and purchase their own structure and cover it in bright pieces of Fendi’s signature Selleria leather. Now your Fendi doesn’t ever have to be confined to just a handbag.
