The Show: Anna Sui Spring 2013
The Theme: Every season when other designer’s collections appear to be a reinterpretation of a common theme, Anna Sui ventures off and offers a fresh and fun surprise for her audience; this season featured ensembles inspired by 1970s punk and the works of French interior designer Madeline Castaigne.
The Palette: Blacks, khaki, floral, olive green, vibrant blue and red. To top off the look, models donned blue, lilac and pink hairpieces with the occasional cat-ear hat.
Best/Signature Piece: There were plenty of lady-like adornments of pearls, cameos and crinolines layered over torn fishnets, leopard and plaid dresses, and motorcycle jackets to give any girl the perfect edge to her sweetness. The music complemented the show audibly with a mash-up of The Ramones anthem “I Wanna Be Sedated” and a few French tunes. Whether your sense of style leans you towards a floral dress for a garden party or an ensemble fit for a punk concert, this collection has something that can please everyone.
