With summer now in full swing, it’s the perfect time to try out those daring, whimsical pieces that are much more difficult to put to use during the colder months of the year. Luckily, this season, some of the most popular brands are leaning more toward statement-making items rather than minimalism. One trend in particular that is hard to miss is animal-themed prints. This lighthearted look is perfect to be paired with classic pieces and basics, or even another print to heighten the trend. Check out Zara’s Printed Top with Bow Sleeves, complete with strategically-placed bird detailing, making it easy to pair with the denim already in your closet. Similarly, Reformation’s Sparrow Dress is great for more formal occasions, while still maintaining a sense of amusement. For accessories, the Furla Metropolis Mini Cross Body Bag and the Alexander McQueen Printed Silk Scarf are finished with leopard and butterfly detailing in a apt vibrantly-hued color palette. Try pairing these with a neutral-shaded sundress or denim for everyday versatility.

Throughout Paris Fashion Week, statement trends like metallic fabrics and bold, vibrant colors were all key styles for this upcoming fall season. One that proved to be most versatile throughout the shows was the classic turtleneck. This piece appeared on almost every runway, solidifying its place as a staple once again for the colder months of the year. Designers like Elie Saab, Christian Dior, and Chanel all featured the turtleneck in their collections, each in their own signature aesthetic.
Zuhair Murad drew inspiration for his show from French music and fashion icon Francoise Hardy, showing a simple black turtleneck layered under a cropped jacket. Stella McCartney took a monochromatic approach to the style in her collection, featuring a turtleneck camel-colored jumpsuit under an ankle length coat of the same tone, both in a slightly oversized fit. Channeling a more edgy side was Saint Laurent, which included a white turtleneck sweater paired with a black leather jacket and skirt.
