Once upon a time Adidas sprinkled a touch of Stella McCartney on their fashion-conscious sportswear collection before sticking it in the oven. And alas, gone were the days of awkwardly tight, camel-toe cinching athletic leggings to make room for more stylish work out gear. This week Adidas again pushes the limits of athletic apparel, launching its new blue label collection, A.039. Promising more “outfit driven” looks, the styles are designed to function both in the gym and everywhere else the day may take you. Browse the rest of the collection here.
The 3D Avatar experience has many idealists crooning the mundane earth blues. On February 4th, Adidas offers you a chance to escape our bleak reality when Snoop Dogg unveils the brand’s new galactic collection. On Thursday morning, the rapper will join Darth Vader in leading the Stormtroopers on a revamped Imperial March through Times Square to the brand’s flagship store in Soho. This unprecedented journey climaxes when Snoop Dogg reveals the new Luke Skywalker sneaker. Yeah, we’ll be there.

We recently learned via WWD that Adidas is getting ready to launch a new sportswear, not activewear line called SLVR, officially making its grand debut in February during New York Fashion Week, with a new store in SoHo devouted to the collection. Although its not derived to be an eco-focused line, it does incorporate green elements such as organic cotton, soybean fabric, and the “zero waste T” made of one piece of fabric sewn once and cut once, and the “seven-piece shoe” comprised of seven stitched together pieces instead of 25 components that normally make up a piece of footwear. We’re pleased that a huge brand like Adidas recognizes the value of being eco-friendly, but we wonder if the positioning of the new sportswear line is really enough to stand out in an already crowded and unstable market..
