On the quest for some wedding/bridal items for myself and to wear, and give, to the weddings I’m attending in the next few months, I went straight to the T.J. Maxx and Marshalls located in the same building at 620 Avenue of the Americas to let the savings begin. Weddings can be EXTREMELY expensive for everyone involved, from the bride to the guests, so being able to shop current-season, on-trend, designer merchandise at tremendous savings sounds like the perfect idea! Since I’m getting married, I was on the search for the perfect white dress to wear to my shower and rehearsal dinner, and lo and behold, I discovered more options than I had space to drop in all of the pics of the beauties.
The most amazing discovery was a four-sided rack chock-full of Kate Spade Wedding Belles line of dresses, at a little over 65% off! It was like T.J. Maxx knew I was coming to the store looking for this and had put that rack on the floor for me. I also discovered a white Theyskens’ Theory dress–ON THE CLEARANCE RACK at about 75% off!! I also found a lovely Maggy London long sleeve lace dress with three quarter-length, reminiscent of a 1960s Mia Farrow, and a washable white buckled dress by Sandra Darren that came in at under $40. Would you have ever thought of buying bridal-related dresses at T.J. Maxx or Marshalls? Isn’t it great to know you can?
For those of you not tying the knot but attending a wedding, there were tons of great, easy pieces appropriate for everything from a laid-back beach wedding or formal church affair. Some of my favorites included a beautifully printed maxi-dress from Free People and a cowl neck orangy-red dress from Ralph Lauren, that will look amazing on any body type (see slideshow for pics and prices). Also, don’t forget about the rehearsal dinner; have something to wear that is appropriate, but not over the top formal. Why not try separates? Two of my favorite finds included a fuchsia and white Michael Michael Kors top (pictured) that will look fresh with some crisp white pants or a pencil skirt, and a red and black top that will also hold its own weight with a long black maxi skirt.
Also, for those that think outside of the box, and want to get something perhaps not on the registry that is functional, thoughtful, and at a great price, you can totally do that at either T.J. Maxx or Marshalls. One can never have enough picture frames or albums, and you can personalize it by putting a pic of the bride and groom in it. The stores also carry gourmet food, which can make a great day-after much needed snack, or perfect for when unexpected guests pop by.
If you’ve been married, think back to the things that you would have liked to have had, or have had more of; I know that we will be doing a lot of entertaining in the next few years leading up to, and after the wedding, so I bought a set of four stemless wineglasses for only $7.99. Thank you cards will also come in quite handy, and I got this box of 50 for $7.99–that makes each set only 15 cents-pretty amazing if you ask me. Last, I was thinking that my feet will need a little reprieve after all the partying, so I picked up these ultra-comfy Laura Ashley slippers for again, $7.99.
Excited about my wedding-related finds at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls? I hope so! Stay tuned for a giveaway so that you can pick out your own – coming soon!
