From our friends at LollieShopping.com:
She’s back, and armed with summer swimwear tips! It’s Bluefly Stylist Tanesha Smith with fab fashion tips to help you pick the right swimsuit. Here’s what she has to say.
What are the hot swimwear trends?
Neoprene surfer/sporty-inspired cuts and colors are humongous right now. On the other end of the spectrum are cut-outs and suits with mesh panels. This season is not particularly considerate of tan-lines.
What type of bathing suit makes the legs look longer?
Suits or bottoms with higher cuts on the leg and try a suit with mesh insets (totally happening). The appearance of more skin will extend your legs. And who needs to swim anyway, throw on your highest heel and lounge poolside.
How does a woman show off a toned tummy?
Try a monokini! A toned tum can get away with a daring cut.
How can I appear slimmer in my swimsuit?
Again, the neoprene-like a spanx swimsuit!
What about those of us who want to accentuate our curves?
This classic cut by Shoshanna works for the haves and the have nots. If you’re spectacularly stacked it will support you and if you could use a hand it provides a bit of volume.
What about sandals? What are the hottest sandal trends?
Not that different from swim actually: mesh and cut-outs are major. Platforms and wedges are still totally relevant as well.
What sandals are worth the splurge? Which sandals on Bluefly are perfect at $100 and under?
Classic shoes by big name designer will always be worth the splurge. The Pigalle by Christian Louboutin will always be a classic “do.” You will not be sorry about having spent the money. However—not every sole can be a red one! We have great options under $100 from the likes of Jeffrey Campbell, Boutique 9, Kelsi Dagger, and Velvet Angels.
Are there any fashion-driven summer styling tips you’d like to add?
With the idea in mind that hair is an accessory, wavy après-swim hair is a great styling tip to try. Sleeping in some easy braids should do the trick. Summer is a good time to try anything cropped, fringed, or crocheted you’ve been too afraid to before. You can get away with a lot in the name of “just heading to the pool.”
