[The greeting party at Sheva Royal Thai Spa]
I’ve never been to Thailand before, but if pampering along the lines of what I experienced at the Sheva Royal Thai Spa is the norm there…I should start looking at flights immediately. Luckily, I can instead venture to Midtown East, where Sheva’s founder Naomi Hurvitz has created an urban oasis, the perfect respite from a busy work week where I can return to an ideal mind/body balance thanks to the range of Thai massage, facials, foot treatments, and nail services offered. Being conscious of relaxation and time, services come in both abbreviated and extended duration, so that if all you can do is escape for 30 minutes at lunch, it’s better to indulge for some time than no time at all!
Services are easy to book online or through the Sheva app, and if you’d like to visit the spa as a steady part of your routine, monthly memberships are available for manicures and foot treatments. I had a foot treatment, which included a warm foot soak with sea salt and essential oils, combined with foot reflexology and massage, which, reclining in a massage chair for the service, was like two treatments in one. With nail services starting at $20, and accommodating hours (Thursdays and Fridays are 8am-8pm), this is one holistic-oriented, welcoming place that you’ll want to keep on your radar for a visit in the near future.
Sheva Royal Thai Spa is located at 500 Lexington Avenue in New York City, with a second location found in the Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv.
