The Show: Rebecca Taylor
The Theme: Sporty & Flirty
The Color Palette: Pastels, White
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: The venue’s white walls and wooden floors were the perfect backdrop for the soft pastels and floral prints of Rebecca Taylor’s Spring 2014 collection. Keeping patterns to a minimum, the beauty was found in the simplicity of it all. Roomy, boxy cuts and lots of layers were integral to the lineup, while the standout look had to be this great floral suit, which combined masculine, tomboy elements with an extremely soft and feminine balance.
The Show: Hache
The Theme: Country Rock of the ‘50s with New York’s Punk Scene of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s
The Color Palette: Red, Blue, Black, White, Light Pink
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: With a motif of country rock combo’ed with punk, Manuela Arcari has created a collection that relies on the Spring 2014 layer trend. Some of the most important looks included washed out leather softened over baby blue lightweight fabrics in loose silhouettes. Belts were big in this collection in order to give way to the ‘50s inspired dresses, while the light neutrals, popular from the ‘50s, collided perfectly with the gritty, tarnished looks of the punk scene.
