Veronica Beard’s Fall 2013 collection took viewers on a journey to the wild American west. The motif provided an urban spin on the western uniform by layering knits with flannel button-ups, bandana print skirts with shearling coats, while other looks incorporated quintessential cowboy staples of denim and leather. Natural elements from the frontier, such as wheat stems, were incorporated into prints for dresses and blouses while the color palette was grounded in the earth with hues of amber, green, purple, deep blues, and browns. This journey through fabrics culminated in the discovery of gold in the form of a backless gold column gown as the eveningwear portion of the colletion. The cowboys were known for their adventurous spirit and these pieces help to keep that essence alive for the modern woman who has to trail blaze her way through the city to get to where she wants to be.
