I started the feature “NYFW FALL 2013: Through the Editor’s Lens” so that you could come with as I move through fashion week, experiencing what I do visually. Now complete is Part II, and shortly, Part III (the final installment) for the season, which shares my fashion week adventures. Part II focuses on the cool tech gadgets, combined of course, with cutting edge style, that came in to play throughout the week.
I got sent this fashion week survival kit, which actually came in handy quite often, featuring a sparkly Clava makeup bag, Altoids mints, an Eyebobs eyeglass cloth, more!
At the Style Coalition Influencer Lounge, for the Grammy’s Party, I got “grammy glam”! I received a gorgeous retro hairstyle via Herbal Essences and my homegirl Natasha Leibel, and an impeccable manicure using the new nail polish line COVERGIRL OutLast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Constant Caribbean. All decked out, I then took a little ‘twirl’ on the red carpet for the “manicam”!
Later that night, I popped over to hang with my friends from NARS Cosmetics at their Grammy-viewing party. I snapped the above pic with Jenny Smith, national makeup artist for the brand, who I adore everything about — look at her cool collar necklaces!
I had an INTENSE, but incredibly fun “Project Runway” day — starting off with the finale fashion show for season 11’s contestants, and finishing the night with a party of ALL of the seasons’ contestants, it was quite an amazing series of events! Before the HP-sponsored party, I attended a technology panel featuring some of my favorites from the Style Coalition, talking about the importance of tech, fashion, and social media. At the party following the panel, not only were “Project Runway” peeps EVERYWHERE, but so was the bubbly, outrageous, yet gorgeous designs, and even models body painted to match fabricated walls! My friend Rebecca from Sorrelli and I played a “Project Runway” trivia game against each other on a massive keyboard, reminiscent of the one in the movie Big!
My car? I WISH! Courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment, I was able to get around to my fashion week events not once, but twice in a fabulous Aston Martin promoting the release of Skyfall on DVD. I loved the movie, and now, I’m digging the wheels! Riding in an Aston Martin, splattered with a 007 movie image garnered pretty much the attention that you would expect.
Poor FPD Kitty! So sleepy! She wedged herself between my laptop and monitor and just wanted some warmth, attention, and to be near her mom while I worked late into the night. If only I could train her to edit images….
From the top: I received a tutorial of Windows 8 on the new Dell XPS from its lounge at the Empire Hotel; working away at the Style Coalition Influencer Lounger; Starbucks on my right, and new HP Envy x 2 tablet on my left as I worked and gabbed with friends; the last day of fashion week I plopped down with my new Intel-based Windows 8 ThinkPad tablet in order to get some work done in between shows.
I just had a mani yesterday and my color is almost identical to yours! And I laughed when I saw your cat wedged in between your keyboard and monitor: My cat does the same thing, and he even LOOKS like you cat!
Looks like you had a fun day (love your striped top with the blazer!).
Thanks!! And see – you are intuitively ahead of the curve with that mani!! I love my cat, but hate when she does that — she usually just sits right in front instead of lying down, as I have to manipulate the windows around her body to see what I’m working on.
