I’m a sucker for good packaging, but also pleasing scent, and with that, I’d like to introduce the newly revamped Nice ‘n Easy from Clairol! The permanent at-home color line has been a staple of mass food and drug retailers for decades, and now is available in the same 47-shade assortment and price ($7.99!) with an array of great attributes that will give you pause about DIY hair color. I mentioned a new scent, a floral fragrance imbued into the formula that does away with the ammonia smell that most at-home hair color can produce, and the packaging, which includes classic floral illustration and notes the new innovations in the product. The new Nice ‘n Easy also has opted to use a thicker crème texture which mimics that of professional salon dyes and also results in better coverage.
Last, it includes two cool innovations which help to take some of the fear out of at-home coloring. The first, ME+ technology, limits the risk of developing an allergic reaction to the dye (for those without an existing allergy), and EDDS, otherwise known as the damage-blocking technology that manages the reaction of your strands to the dye so that it enables healthy, beautiful, smooth hair during and after your at-home hair dyeing session.
My friend and all-around color guru, James Corbett, Clairol’s color director, demo’ed the new product for me and recommended 4R, a pretty, dark auburn shade, to work with my existing deeper red hue. Thanks to all of the benefits of the new Nice ‘n Easy, the fear and guesswork of at-home hair color is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, and I can’t wait to test it out for myself from the comfort of my own bathroom!
And did I mention you can try it for free? Head to Clairol’s website via this link for a color match and to request your free sample!
