The Show: Tribune Standard
The Theme: Saharan voyage
The Color Palette: Desert neutrals including olive, toasted sesame, and sand
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: The Moroccan influence is hard to miss in Tribune Standard’s spring collection, updating it with their signature silk prints paired with metallic tweeds, shear gauze, and crisp poplin. These beautiful fabrics were further embellished with metallic coins and shear insets adding a modern twist. The look that stole the show was matching gold tweed shorts and jacket set paired over an olive metallic coin top.
The Show: Lyn Devon
The Theme: America goes south of the border
The Color Palette: Tomato Red and Chocolate Brown
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Like the designer intended, you can feel the handmade quality of each piece. The rich red, browns, and violets are all adorned with confetti embroidery, hand-knotted faille buds, and hand-punch holes along the seam of skirts and dresses. The fabrics are light and flowing, adding to the Mexican emphasis. The look that stood out the most was a bright yellow top and skirt combo that cinched at the waste. The shirt flowed seamlessly into the breezy skirt and look effortlessly perfect.
The Show: Carlos Campos
The Theme: Minimalist with bursts of color
The Color Palette: Watery blues, earthy greens, and warm golden yellows contrasted against crisp whites
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Inspired by the modern designs of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, Carlos Campos seamlessly incorporated Clatrava’s minimalist approach and use of energetic colors. Oversized collars and elongated sleeves reflected the architectural influence as well. Campos did add his own twist with the integration of dots and stars on the prints.
