For Fall 2013, you can look forward to new fabric treatments, silhouettes, and overall great offerings from Kelly Wearstler, which is not a surprise for anyone familiar with the label. Beginning her career with a home decor line in the ’90s, Wearstler’s fashion line launched in 2011 and her designs and patterns are a result of her prior experience in mastering idiosyncratic designs and pattern making. This season, Wearstler also drew inspiration from one of her favorite designers, Ettore Sottsass, because of his grasp on bold geometric forms.
For the fall collection we will see an array of both muted and bold color schemes throughout her collection. All of the graphics are uniquely hers, making everything from the blouses to the t-shirts a fashion statement. Something all loyal and new fans of the brand can look forward to is the thirty-piece denim collection. The made of Japanese denim and woven into the luxe fabric is also gold or silver stitching. Another standout aspect of the collection was the jewelry, which embodies a modern and avant-guarde touch making these pieces certainly more so than a modern adornment, but also a work of art.
