The weather is getting bitter cold, which means it will soon wreak havoc on our skin. The natural moisture we depend upon gets stripped away, leaving the face, body and hands dry and dull. It’s time to switch our moisture routines and hydrate our parched skin before it’s too late! Long live skin’s luster!
Face
Crème de la Mer has inspired a cult-like following. It’s up to you to determine if the $135/oz. price is worth the coveted transformation that The Moisture Collection products can offer. The Face Treatments and Body Collections come in at slightly cheaper price points. Browse around and splurge!
At just $ 7.99, Garnier Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV Lotion is ideal if you want 24 hour UV protection (it has SPF 15) and hydration. It’s lightweight and oil-free, so don’t worry about having it on under makeup.
Lips
My entire life I had sworn by the basic ChapStick, however it doesn’t give any tint. Sometimes we’re looking for a bit of color and moisture combined, hence Burt’s BeesLip Shimmer ($5) has been a fan favorite as well. It’s full of natural ingredients (sunflower oil, castor oil, and beeswax), and glides on to give a neither too pigmented nor too sheer look. With a great collection of 12 colors, you can’t go wrong!
Body
Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Body Crème ($6.75) works to smooth away very rough, dry skin. Many dermatologists recommend the product as it is fragrance free and great on sensitive skin. It’s also especially recommended for rough areas, ie: elbows, feet, knees.
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion works around the clock. At $13 for 12 oz. you are getting a great bargain for a rather incredible product. Industry experts always go back to CeraVe for its controlled delivery system, and I have to add that I love it too!

Hands
L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream has been named a beauty must have. Using honey and sweet almond extract, the cream will heal and moisturize. What’s more, Vitamin E will nourish even further ($26.00 for 5.2 oz).
The rich and balmy texture of Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream spreads over hands like an ointment. Only about $5, a small drop goes a very long way here! (Tip: Apply the lotion before bed and put gloves on to sleep. Your hands will be completely renewed in the morning!)

And of course, there are plenty of home remedies you can try instead. For one, coconut oil is said to work miracles on dry, chapped skin, but has plenty of other benefits beyond it. Click here to read more about it, or buy one of our favorite beauty brands, VMV Hypoallergenics’ Know-it-oil; Clinically-validated, 100% USDA-certified organic virgin coconut oil ($23.40).
So, what are you waiting for? Get hydrated and get glowing!

Use only gentle cleansers that don’t strip your skins natural oils, breaking-down your skin’s fragile outer barrier. Your skin is protected from chapping by this outer dead skin cell layer called the stratum corneum. The foaming agent in many soaps remove your natural lipids (oils) that hold this layer together, causing the layer to weaken. When you take that weakened layer into harsh weather and temperature extremes it can’t hold up. Switch your cleansers for winter.Yonka
