By mid-October every year, I’m reluctantly packing away my summer clothes, with only a few apparel and accessory items remaining behind, with the hope of layering them to transition into the colder weather, or for positive thoughts of a freakishly warm day or two in the near future. I simply adore the summer, and feel like I relish in dressing for the season; the thought of endless summer days are what makes me most happy. Meanwhile, when winter rolls around, I feel the effects of seasonal mood disorder rapidly set in, missing my summer-centric belongings and fighting the sense of ‘blah’ that I feel when it comes to the season’s clothes.
This fall (and into the weather), I’m grateful to bring an old friend along with me, who I usually tuck safely away in order to preserve its canvas good lucks and spare it from the muck of city curbs in inclement weather. The Keds fall collection comes in an awesome array of shoes that are seasonally appropriate, durable, and hearty enough to combat the city streets with aplomb. I chose a black leather sneaker, but stylish suede, velvet, and even glitter options also abound in a variety of silhouettes, along with winter boots with waterproof exteriors, so if you get splashed by a cab or have to slosh through snow, it’s all good. I hate saying goodbye to the summer, but as long as I can take one of my go-to summer sneaker brands with me, I think I’ll be okay.
